Justin Kollar is an American journalist working for WCSC Live 5 News as a news anchor since joining the station in December 2023. Previously, he served WXIN FOX59/CBS4 Indy in Indianapolis, Indiana as a reporter and traffic anchor on the CBS4 This Morning show.
Justin Kollar Education
Kollar joined Olivet Nazarene University in 2013 when he finished his high school studies. In 2015, he transferred to the University of Missouri School of Journalism where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and an American History minor. During his time at Olivet Nazarene University, he took part as a staff writer for the school paper, track and field athlete, and Bible study leader.
Kollar worked as an intern at White Lake Beacon from May 2015 to September 2015. From May 2015 to September 2015, he was an intern for WGVU. He moved to Columbia, Missouri Area from November 2016 to May 2017 and became a board operator for Zimmer Radio and Marketing Group.

Kollar serves WCSC Live 5 News as a news anchor. His interest in local news started when he was young. He used his passion for journalism in his hometown newspaper, The White Lake Beacon. Thus, he gained his real-world reporting experience when he was a high schooler.
Kollar started his broadcast TV career when he was still in college. At the time, he served KOMU 8 News as a reporter and periodically as a fill-in-anchor. Next, he moved to Grand Rapids where he served WOOD TV8 as a reporter, an assignment desk editor, and filled in as a news anchor and traffic anchor. After working in Grand Rapids, he relocated to central Indiana where he served FOX59 & CBS4 in Indianapolis as a reporter. Later, he was promoted to serve the station as a traffic anchor on the CBS4 This Morning show.
During his career, he has walked with families rebuilding after natural and man-made crises. Also, he has celebrated with folks during championships, lottery winnings, and personal accomplishments. His expose with a player from Indianapolis on the 2022 National Championship Runners Up Alabama Crimson Tide serves as his favorite story. He conversed with the player’s high school teammates, friends, high school coaches, and family about their excitement to see him play in the CFB National Championship in his hometown.
During his career, he has received a number of awards for his work including a 2021 Edward R. Murrow Award for the breaking news coverage of the Grand Rapid riots. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences from the Michigan and Great Lakes Chapters nominated him for two regional Emmys respectively for his breaking news broadcast and business/consumer reporting. He became an Eagle Scout after serving the Boy Scouts of America for over 12 years.
