Karen Jenkins is an American journalist working for WJHL as a weekend morning news anchor and daytime reporter since joining the station in March 2024. Since April 2016, she has worked for Evans & Evans Real Estate in Johnson City, Tennessee as an affiliate broker.

Jenkins joined Ohio University’s Scripps School of Journalism in 1990 when she finished her studies at Dixie High School. In 1994, she graduated with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Journalism and a Political Science minor.

Following her time in Dayton, she moved to Bristol, Virginia where she served WCYB as an anchor and reporter for nearly 5 years. She then worked in Nashville at WSMV as a general assignment reporter for nearly 4 years.
Jenkins left journalism for a while and spent multiple years sharpening her communication skills in areas like Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, and even Real Estate. She has lived in the Tri-Cities for more than 15 years. During this time, she has worked on multiple charitable boards such as those that encompass her sons and their school and sports activities.
