Karsen Buschjost is an American anchor and newscaster working with Big 2, News at KMID, in Odessa, Texas. He joined the station in January 2021, and serves as an evening anchor, alongside Madalyn Bierster.
Karsen Buschjost Education
Buschjost attended the University of Colorado Boulder from 2012 to 2013 when he graduated. He then joined Colorado State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media Communications and a Bachelor’s degree in journalism. Karsen also joined Arizona State University in 2016 and graduated in 2017 with a Master’s in Sports Journalism and Broadcast Journalism.
Karsen Buschjost Career
Buschjost began his career as an intern at News 4 San Antonio from May 2015 to August 2015. He then joined Campus Television, Rocky Mountain for nine months serving as an executive producer. Buschjost later spent two years at the same station, serving as a News Anchor/Reporter and Production assistant. From February 2016 to May 2016, he worked as an intern with KDVR Fox 31 Denver at Fox Broadcasting Company. He then joined the Phoenix Suns as a communications specialist serving for three years.
Buschjost then started working for Pac-12 Network in California at the conference’s media days and reported on the Los Angeles Angels. He later joined Arizona PBS and Cronkite Sports Los Angeles from May 2017 to January 2021. There he worked as a reporter and content producer. He also serves as a communication specialist for the Phoenix Suns and reported for the Cronkite Sports Bureau in Los Angeles during the summer.
Buschjost then joined KRNV News 4-Reno, Nevada’s NBC affiliate in Reno, Nevada, serving as a reporter and an anchor for three years. In January 2021, he joined KMID Big 2 News as an evening anchor. There he works to the present, co-anchoring alongside Madalyn Bierster at 5, 6, and 10 p.m. every evening.
