Keith Monday Biography
Keith Monday is an American meteorologist working for WSOC as a meteorologist whose forecasts appear on weekday mornings starting at 4:30 a.m. and noon. He joined the station in January 2008 and has served the station for more than a decade.

Monday joined the University of Missouri in July 1994 when he finished his high school education. In May 1998, he graduated with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Soil and Atmospheric Sciences. In college, he secured his first job at the NBC station owned by the university, KOMU.

Monday has worked in numerous parts of the nation with several types of challenging weather. In January 2011, he won an Emmy Best Weathercast award in Nashville. His history with the weather when he was very young trying to get over his fear of thunderstorms. His fear then turned into interest as he learned more about the weather and how it works.
After graduating college, Monday moved to West Texas where he forecasted for KLBK in Lubbock. There, he gained his first experience of broadcasting severe weather. He was also a storm chaser, looking for large hail and tornadoes. Even though he saw a few smaller tornadoes at a distance, he encountered more hail than he had ever seen.
Monday forecasted severe weather in Lubbock for three years before he was promoted to chief meteorologist at KAMR in Amarillo. He worked in Amarillo for 3 years broadcasting some of the most active weather in the country. One night, he broadcasted dozens of tornado warnings for 8 hours straight.
Monday moved to West Virginia where he covered new types of weather hazards including flooding rains and heavy mountain snows. For three years, he was a morning meteorologist for WOWK in Charleston/Huntington.
During his first month in the Mountain State, Monday dealt with the remains of two hurricanes, Ivan and Frances, that went up the East Coast. Within 10 days, heavy rains triggered substantial flooding across the Appalachians. The American Meteorological Society gave him its Seal of Approval in 2001. He has also won multiple awards including the Texas Associated Press Best Weathercast Award.
