Kelly Werthmann is an American Emmy-Award-Winning Anchor/Reporter working for CBS4 News/KCNC-TV in Denver, Colorado serving the station as a Weekend Evening Anchor and Weekday Reporter. She has been working with the station since May 2012.

Werthmann works with CBS4 News where she serves the station as a Weekend Evening Anchor and Weekday Reporter. She states that she loves calling Denver home and has a true passion for sharing Colorado’s stories. Werthmann states that if one had watched CBS4 News at any time over the last decade, one would likely see her reporting in the field, anchoring in the studio, and streaming online.
She is on the air almost every morning, night, and afternoon. Asides from this, she has served a variety of roles since first joining the CBS4 This Morning team in the year 2012. From morning reporter to late-night storyteller, weekend morning anchor, and even a brief stint as a sports anchor. Her time on the morning show turned out to be a turbulent time in Colorado’s history with destructive wildfires and floods as well as the tragic mass shooting in an Aurora movie theater. The year 2013 saw her trade early morning for late nights to join the CBS4 News at 10 teams.
Being a part of the late-night crew, she often serves as a fill-in anchor for the CBS4 Sports team. She has also helped to cover Super Bowl XLVIII in New York and CBS4’s special coverage of Super Bowl 50 in California. This helped launch her into the CBS4 This Morning weekend anchor chair for a little more than a year before returning to CBS4 News at 10.
Earlier on in early 2020, CBS4 launched its news 24-hour streaming channel CBS News Colorado, and Kelly proudly accepted the role as its evening anchor. She states that it quickly became a critical platform as the coronavirus pandemic hit Colorado. Kelly states that across the state, and other parts of the country, turned to CBS News Colorado for the latest information on COVID-19.
Ten years into her journalism career in Denver, she returned to the “weekend warrior” team, this time as evening anchor. One can join her and the dynamic weekend team every Saturday and Sunday night at 5 PM and 10 PM. Her broadcast journalism career began in Billings, Montana. Later on, after working in Big Sky State for about five years, and calls Colorado Springs home. There, she worked for FOX21 News as a General Assignment Reporter. Away from work, she enjoys volunteering at Colorado Horse Rescue in Longmont, exploring the outdoors, and snuggling up with her dog Penny.
