Rincon works with CBS2 New York where he serves the station as a General Assignment Reporter. He was born in the Bronx and raised in Newark. Being a first-generation American, was able to learn how to speak English by listening to all-news radio. This motivated his drive to pursue a career in the news.
The year 2010 saw him graduate from Quinnipiac University where he obtained a degree in journalism and a minor in fine arts. He kick-started his professional career in radio when he was a freshman in college working as a production assistant, reporter, and writer at WQUN-AM in Hamden.
By his junior year at Quinnipiac, he worked as an overnight radio anchor for WTIC-AM in Hartford, Conn. He later completed over half a dozen internships while finishing his coursework. Soon after his graduation, he later took a job in Jacksonville, Florida working as a reporter and anchor at WOKV-AM/FM. Asides from this, he has also contributed to several Edward R. Murrow and AP Awards. This is in addition to covering Florida politics, and the end of NASA’s space program, and worked as a Jacksonville Jaguars reporter for the NFL Network’s SiriusXM station.
Later on, the year 2012 saw him help launch WNEW-FM, a CBS Radio station in Washington, D.C. Asides from general assignment reporting, he also covered Capitol Hill and the Supreme Court. Later on, after a few years, he returned home to NYC where he was privileged to join 1010 WINS as a reporter and anchor. This was the station that taught him how to speak English.
The year 2015, on the other hand, saw him help launch another new radio station, this time on SiriusXM for FOX News. He was also the station’s afternoon drive-time anchor and breaking news reporter. Asides from this, he was also a political reporter covering the 2016 election from start to finish.
He made a return to local news in the year 2018 when he joined WCBS 880 working as an anchor/reporter. When he was there, he started his transition to TV, while freelancing for WCBS before becoming a staff reporter. In his time working for WCBS, he has been privileged to cover the COVID-19 pandemic, immigration and its impact in the NYC area, several elections, and severe weather.
