Zinnia was privileged to receive a full-tuition merit-based scholarship to Penn State University. She is a proud graduate of Penn State University where she graduated magma cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism and Digital Media Trends & Analytics and a minor in Sociology. There, she was privileged to graduate with a 4.0 grade. At the University, she was a Bunton-Waller fellow.

Maldonado works for CBS2 New York where she serves the station as a New Reporter. Prior to joining the WCBS/CBS2 New York team, she was working for CBS Boston/WBZ-TV in Boston, Massachusetts. There, she served the station as a News Reporter between June 2021 and June 2022. While there, he was privileged to cover an array of national and breaking news stories such as the Harmony Montgomery disappearance, the Celtics’ journey to the NBA Finals, and the Boston Marathon.
Prior to CBS Boston, Zinnia was a reporter and fill-in anchor at FOX61 News. While in Connecticut, she covered a wide range of stories. Zinnia started her career as a Multi-Media Journalist for PBS, outside of Philadelphia. She graduated magna cum laude from Penn State University with degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Digital Media Trends & Analytics.
Prior to that, she was working for FOX61 News in Hartford, Connecticut Area where she was serving the station as a reporter and fill-in anchor. There, she worked between January 2019 and June 2021. While there, she was also covering a wide range of stories. She kick-started her career working as a Multi-Media Journalist/Reporter for PBS39 in the Greater Philadelphia Area. There, she worked between July 2018 and December 2018.
The Philadelphia native is happy to be living in New York City. She is a proud member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Away from work, she enjoys working out, trying new restaurants, and taking her dog Yogi, on long hikes.
