Henderson is a multi-skilled journalist working for 12News serving as part of the 12News Today in AZ team. There she serves as the network’s lead on weather coverage, alongside Stella Sun, Emily Pritchard, and Scott McDonnell. Being a Valley native, she joined the network in September 2013. She began her career in Medford, Oregon, at the CBS affiliate, KTVL News 10, where she tenured for four years as the weekday multimedia journalist, weather anchor, and weekend news.
There she covered both northern California and southern Oregon and also for Best Weathercast received an Associated Press Award and another for Best Continuing Coverage. She attended Arizona State University, where she later graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. There she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. Later, she attended ASU where she minored in Business at the W.P. Carey School.
Additionally, she was admitted into the National Honor Society of Journalists where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Henderson grew much fonder with the weather immediately after she completed her degree course at ASU. She did weathercasts for Cronkite Newswatch and wanted to learn more about the science behind it. This made her to major in her education at Mississippi State University, where she earned a Certificate in Broadcast Meteorology and a Bachelor of Science.
She was also tenured since 2018 at the NATAS Rocky Mountain Board of Governors and later in 2019 at its Foundation since its creation. Henderson currently tenures as the Membership & Outreach Chair. Later in 2017, she was motivated to join the board after hosting the Student Production Awards. Every year, she has hosted and is passionate and dedicated to supporting the next generation of meteorologists and journalists.
