Larry Wentz is an American journalist who serves as Evening News Anchor at KMEG. He received his journalism degree from Iowa State University in 1977. Larry has been a reporter, anchor, and news director throughout his career.
Larry Wentz Career
He has previously worked at WHO Radio and Television in Des Moines, WQOW in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and WBAY-TV in Green Bay. He moved to Sioux City in 1990 and worked for KTIV-TV for eight years before becoming a realtor and producer of a real estate television show for two years.
Larry went on to work as an anchor for KMEG 14 for three years after that. He most recently worked as an evening anchor for KCAU-TV in Sioux City for eight years. Larry, in addition to his stellar background, is an outspoken advocate for organ donation, receiving the IBNA’s renowned Jack Shelley Award last spring.
The Iowa State Cyclones, Minnesota Vikings, and Minnesota Twins are Larry’s teams. Larry has a wife, Lola, and two boys, Chris and Kelly. His grandchildren Ava and Nolan are the children of Chris and Michelle Henshaw. Keenan and Quintin Crow are his stepsons.
