Lauren Magiera is an American sports reporter and anchor. She has been on the WGN News team since joining in April 2016 as the station’s first female sports anchor and reporter, on weekends.
Magiera attended the University of Alaska Anchorage and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Communications on a full-ride gymnastics scholarship. At college, she was known as an athlete, and she is a graduate of Barrington High School.

Magiera joined WGN News from the NFL Green Bay Packers, where she was well known as a co-host of a weekly 30-minute pre-game show with Packers Hall of Famer Larry McCarren. In addition to the pre-game show, She produced hosted home games as the field reporter, weekly feature stories, and created online content for Packers.com.
Before her time with the Green Bay Packers, She worked for several stations in a sports capacity. Magiera joined ABC Alaska KIMO/FOX as the station’s sports director in 2008. After nearly 2 years with ABC, she joined NBC Alaska KTUU as a sports reporter. In 2012, She made her way back to the Midwest, taking the job as sports director-producer-reporter at ABC Wausau WAOW-TV in Wisconsin before eventually making her way to Green Bay.
