Lea Zmurko Biography
Lea Zmurko is an American meteorologist working for WDIO-TV as a storm track meteorologist for Good Morning Northland since joining the station in July 2024. Previously, she worked for the Penn State Department of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science.

Zmurko joined Penn State University in 2020 after finishing her high school education. In 2024, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology and Atmospheric Science. While in college, she took weather observations and recorded data for the local National Weather Service station.
Zmurko also had dozens of opportunities to deliver on-air forecasting from the Meteorology department’s show “Weather World,” the Campus Weather Service, and the Communications department’s program “Centre County Report.” She was involved with the Penn State Club Ski Team. Her collegiate team qualified for Nationals every year, creating some of her best memories and being a part of those journeys.

Zmurko is thrilled to explore Minnesota resorts and carve some turns here at the local hills. Moreover, she looks forward to life by the lake here as she spent her summers in the Adirondack Mountains on Schroon Lake, New York, with her family.
