Lee Goldberg Biography
Lee Goldberg is an American anchor/reporter/director working at NEWS CENTER Maine where he serves as the co-anchor of The Morning Report and sports director. He joined WCSH in 1993, after previously working at WBOY-TV in Clarksburg, West Virginia as a sports director.
While working at NEWS CENTER Maine, he has covered a number of the biggest stories in New England sports histories such as three World Series and seven Super Bowls. He was present when the Patriots won Super Bowls in 2001, 2003, 2004, 2015, and 2017. Goldberg also witness the Red Sox’s incredible comeback against the New York Yankees that happened in 2 the 2004 ALCS and their subsequent World Series victory.
In addition, he was present in Denver in 2017, when the Sox beat the Rockies for the World Series title, and was at Fenway Park in 2013, for the Sox’s Series win. Furthermore, he created and hosted the first HS Football wrap-up show in Maine in 1993, after the 5th Quarter was introduced. For his contributions to journalism in Maine, he has been recognized by the Maine Association of Broadcasters, the New England Emmy, and the Associated Press.
The Maine Athletic Directors’ Association also recognized his contributions and named him Media Person of the Year. In addition, Lee won the Downeast Magazine Readers Choice Best Local TV Sports Anchor award in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. During his leisure time, he enjoys volunteering with the Maine Children’s Cancer Program, Sweetser, The Cromwell Center, KIDS First, The IRIS Network, and others.
