Asides from this, he quarterbacked the home team until he retired in the year 1975. The year 1976 saw him playing for the Chiefs and later became a Sports Director for KMBC 9 News.

He has also offered his expertise to NBC and numerous Kansas City radio stations as a commentator. For the last 16 years, he has been a member of the Chiefs Radio Broadcast Team.
