Marcia Kramer Biography
Marcia Kramer is an American award-winning journalist currently working as the chief political correspondent and television news reporter for WCBS-TV in New York City. At the station and in the New York Daily News newspaper, Kramer won several awards for her electronic journalism. As an investigative and political editor, Kramer joined CBS 2 in 1990. She was the City Hall bureau chief at the New York Daily News prior to CBS 2.

Her state, national, and foreign stories have earned her numerous honors, including two George Foster Peabody awards, two Edward R. Murrow awards, nine Emmy awards, two Golden Typewriter awards from the New York Press Club, and an Associated Press first-place award for her investigative reports. “Her work has been noted in the New York Times and New York Post editorials, as well as in an article titled “Marcia Kramer: Journalism at its Finest,” which was published in March 1998 in the New York Observer.
Most recently, Kramer broke a report highlighting city council officials’ excessive use of lighting and sirens. Her story led to a crackdown by Mayor Bloomberg, leading to the elimination of lights and sirens from hundreds of cars. Other credits include a documentary on individuals stealing and trafficking school equipment on the Black Market, a story on schools eating old meals beyond their freshness date, and a video exposing taxpayer dollars to school board members vacationing in Las Vegas. She was also cited for her reports on Swiss banks and Nazi gold, which resulted in the Swiss decision to give the money back in the end. Kramer is also remembered for her interview with President Clinton in 1992 in which he admitted that he had “never inhaled.”
