Gusoff went to Columbia University where she attained her Master of Science Degree in Journalism. She also went to Cornell University where she attained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government and English. During her time at Cornell University, she worked as the Editor-in-Chief of the Cornellian as well as a U.S. Congressional intern for then U.S Senator Alfonse D’Amato and Senator Joe Biden.

In addition to that, her investigative story “Littered Landscape” won First Place New York AP Award, a 2020 Emmy Award, and  LI Press Club and FOLIO awards.

Prior to CBS2, she worked at Fox5 WNYW in 2012 where she enclosed the lead story of the day on Good Day New York. Before that, she worked at WNBC in Long Island where she worked for about 15 years. In addition to her roles at WNBC, she also served as the co-anchor of the station’s top-rated Saturday and Sunday morning program “Weekend Today in New York” for about five years.

Before that, she served as a reporter at CBS2 for about 3 years. While there, she enclosed the biggest New York stories including the terror attacks of 9-11, the massacre on the Long Island Railroad, and the devastation wreaked by Hurricane Sandy. In addition to that, she was also one of the very first reporters at three commercial jetliner crashes: TWA Flight 800, Avianca Flight 52, and American Airlines Flight 587. She also reported on the historic storm’s toll for 36 hours straight.

Gusoff then left News 12 Long Island and started working at NBC where she served as a reporter and anchor. It was here that she was awarded for enclosing national stories like the Tankleff murders, the kidnapping of Katie Beers, and the Amy Fisher/Joey Buttafuoco scandal. She started her journalism career in Fort Myers, Florida at the ABC affiliate, WEVU-TV where she served as an anchor/reporter.
