Marcus Leshock Biography
Marcus Leshock is an American Emmy Award-winning journalist and television host. He has been working at WGN-TV as a feature reporter since joining in 2009. Leshock has been a member of the cast on WGN Morning News each day from 4-10 am since September 2013.
Leshock earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Communication from NIU. As he was at NIU, he worked at the school’s newspaper, Northern Star, where he edited “The Weekender” entertainment section. He as well contributed entertainment reports at the Northern Television Center. He is serving as an adjunct instructor at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

He has won four Emmy Awards for his reporting and hosting work. Leshock was named CLTV’s Employee of the Year in 2008, and also WGN’s Employee of the Month in April 2010. In 2010, Leshock was named Northern Illinois University’s Distinguished Journalism Alumni of the Year.
