Genero serves as the evening weather forecaster and also does several reports on Channel 2(WGRZ) in Buffalo, New York. She began her journalism career back in 1984 at a radio station called WYRK. After several years working at the radio station, she moved on to working for the CBS affiliate in Buffalo serving as a weekend weathercaster.
While still at the CBS affiliate, she joined the University Of Mississippi Broadcast Meteorology program and was credentialed by the National Weather Association in 1989. In 1989, she relocated to Miami, Florida, and started working for WCIX, a CBS-owned and operated station where she served as the evening 6 and 11 p.m. meteorologist.
During her tenure in WCIX, she was named the chief weather fill-in for Mark McEwen for CBS This Morning. In this role, she had President Nixon, who was in NYC to promote his new book, stand with her while doing the national weather. She left the station in 1996 and started working for KABC in Los Angeles that same year.
While at KABC, she served as the host of a show called Eye on L.A., a California lifestyle show, and also served as the weekend meteorologist. In 1998, she left KABC and joined hands with FOX News in New York City where she served as the host of the 7-9 a.m. morning news show called “Good Day New York”. Whenever she is not working, she enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends. She also enjoys trying out new restaurants.
