She kick-started her broadcasting career working behind the scenes as a news writer and then news producer in the Bay Area, where she was raised. Marla launched her career when she obtained a reporting gig for the CBS affiliate in Salinas. She then went on to join CBS 5 KPIX in San Francisco, California. There, she was serving the station as a Correspondent/Producer/Reporter between 2004 and 2007. While there, she was working as a producer and correspondent for the nightly show, Evening Magazine.
The year 2008 saw her leave for California for an anchor opportunity in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This is where she got a chance to appear in the hit AMC show, “Breaking Bad.” Over the years, she has interviewed numerous high-ranking politicians, and celebrities and covered the highly publicized Scott Peterson Trial. Asides from this, she has received two Emmy Awards along the way.
