Mary Ellen Pann is an American meteorologist working for WGAL as a meteorologist since joining the station in September 2021. Previously, she worked for WPMT FOX43 as a meteorologist for 2 decades.

Ellen joined Mississippi State University in August 1996 after finishing her education at Centerville High School. In August 1999, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Meteorology.

Ellen works for WGAL as a meteorologist. She is elated to forecast again for the Lower Susquehanna Valley, bringing 25 years of forecasting experience to WGAL. She says she is so thrilled and honored to work with WGAL and a respected group of meteorologists, who share the same passion for weather as she does. Despite the challenges that come with forecasting for the Lower Susquehanna Valley, Ellen enjoys forecasting snow.
Ellen returned to school in her early 30s to study meteorology against all odds, and with the help of so many. Before finishing school, she started her career in 1997 at WMDT on the Maryland Eastern Shore. While at WMDT, she also freelanced at FOX45 in Baltimore, WUSA in Washington, D.C. and FOX43 in York, Pennsylvania.
In 1999, she joined the FOX43 team as a full-time employee. In 2012, she was promoted to the chief meteorologist, making history as the first female to hold that position in the Lower Susquehanna Valley. Also, she played an instrumental role in creating the Weather Smart brand.
