Matt Meister is an American award-winning meteorologist working for FOX 21. He has been working for this station since joining in May 2019.
Matt Meister Career
Meister serves as the chief meteorologist at FOX 21. He had also worked for other stations prior to joining FOX21. For instance, he started his journalism career at KGWN-TV, the CBS affiliate in Cheyenne, Wyoming where he served as the weekend meteorologist.
He left the station and started working for National Center For Atmospheric Research where she was a student assistant from June 1999 to September 2001. He, later on, started working for KRDO-TV where he served as a chief meteorologist from 2001 to May 2014. In May 2014, he left the station and started working for Falcon School District where he served as a Director of communications from May 2014 to May 2019.
Meister has also managed to win several awards including Colorado Broadcasters Association Broadcast Citizen of the Year in 2011. He also received a Colorado Broadcasters Association Best Meteorologist in 2011 and 2021. In 2011 and 2012, he was awarded a Colorado Broadcasters Association Best Meteorologist.
Some of the other local awards he won include 2012, 2013, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 Colorado Springs Independent Best Local TV News Personality. He was also awarded the 2019, 2020, and 2021 Colorado Springs Gazette Best TV Meteorologist.
Whenever he is not working, he enjoys spending his free time with Misty and his two children. He also enjoys playing guitar, cooking, and several outdoor activities including skiing and hunting. He is also very active when it comes to helping in his community including church, youth sports coach, and several non-profit organizations and foundations.
