Matt Smith is an American Award-winning anchor working for WISN 12 News serving as an executive producer and political director. Previously, he was an anchor and reporter at CBS4/FOX 59 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Prior to joining the station in March 2019, Matt served as an anchor and reporter at CBS4/FOX 59 in Indianapolis, Indiana. His coverage also appeared on other national channels like MSNBC, Fox News, and ABC’s World News Tonight.
In 2016, Matt reported on various campaign elections including the former Vice President Mike Pence and several presidential interviews. He was also featured in national magazines like the Washington Post POLITICO, and the New York Times. Earlier, Smith served as an anchor, investigative, and political reporter at WBAY-TV in Green Bay, Wisconsin. There, he worked for more than seven years where he covered high-profile news which earned him national attention.
Before moving to Green Bay, Matt worked for KBJR-TV, the NBC 6 & CBS affiliate in Duluth where he served as a producer, reporter, and anchor. For his work in the station, he was honored by the Society of Professional Journalists, Milwaukee Press Club, and the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association. In addition, he was also awarded multiple awards for his outstanding work.
Matt began his broadcasting career as an intern at WCCO-TV, the CBS affiliate in Minnesota. In his role, he assisted in research, conducted interviews, and wrote scripts. Besides this, he also worked at UTVS-TV as a news anchor for five months. Aside from working as a journalist, Smith worked for the Record as an editor-in-chief from May 2006 to December 2006. He was also responsible for developing the brand, creating budgets, and leading weekly editorial meetings.
