McKenna Alexander Biography

McKenna Alexander is an American journalist working for WGAL as a weekend evening anchor for WGAL News 8 since joining the station in January 2024. Previously, she worked for WISC in Madison, Wisconsin, for nearly 2 years.

McKenna Alexander Education

Alexander joined the Missouri School of Journalism in 2015 after finishing her studies at Plano West Senior High School. In 2019, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. While in college, she was on the Dean’s list from 2015 to 2018. Also, she was involved with the Alpha Chi Omega, College Mentors for Kids, and Women in Journalism .

Alexander works for WGAL as a weekend evening anchor for WGAL News 8. In this role, she anchors WGAL News 8 at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, as well as 10 p.m. on MeTV every Sunday. She has always loved writing since a young age, starting with drafting picture books, printing recess newspapers in elementary school, and being the editor-in-chief in high school. Thus, it wasn’t a surprise when she decided to study journalism in college.

After graduating from college, Alexander worked for WQOW in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, as a weekend anchor. She then moved to Madison, where she served WISC first as the weekend morning anchor and eventually, weekend evening anchor. She worked in Wisconsin for nearly five years before jumping to her next adventure, and is now thrilled to return in Lancaster.
