Newquist works with KSTP/KSTC News where she serves the station as a Morning and Midday News Anchor. She states that her interest in journalism began at a very young age as she remembers watching the nightly news with her parents before dinner. She kick-started her career working for KHSL-TV in Redding, California. There, she was serving the station as a bureau reporter. During that time, she worked just about every shift from reporter to producer to morning anchor and also spent three years working as an evening anchor. Newquist served the station between April 2000 and October 2003.
Later on, January of the year 2004 saw him join WTVQ-TV in Lexington, KY. There, she was anchoring the evening news before coming to the 5 Eyewitness News in May 2009. She gets up early to bring her viewers the news from 5:30 AM – 7 AM on KSTP. Asides from this, she also hosts the station’s lifestyle show Minnesota Live from 9-10 AM.
Away from her journalism career, she has been volunteering for years with Shriner’s Hospital for Children taking part in Camp Achieve and the Shriner’s Prom. Throughout the year, she emcees many events for groups and organizations across the Twin Cities. Away from work, she enjoys renovating their home, cooking, traveling, and camping.
