Mike Slifer Biography
Mike Slifer is an American meteorologist working for WFSB as a weekend meteorologist. He joined the WFSB team in September 2022, after previously working at NEWS CENTER Maine where he serves on the weekends at 6 pm and 11 pm meteorologist.
In 2012, Slifer joined the University at Albany, SUNY where he graduated in 2012, with a Bachelor of Science in atmospheric sciences and meteorology in May 2016. He gained interest in weather while he was young and his favorite thing to watch on television was radar loops on The Weather Channel. He always enjoys a good snowstorm and he hails from Connecticut where he witnessed hurricanes, floods, blizzards, and severe thunderstorms.
After he interned at NBC Connecticut for a summer, he found a passion for broadcast. While he was in his second year of college, he started taking journalism courses in addition to interning at WTEN in Albany, New York. Mike was able to secure his first job at WVNS in West Virginia where he worked for three years.
