Nick King is an American award-winning anchor and reporter working for KPHO/GMA. He has been working for the station since joining in 2013.

Nick King Career

King serves as a sports reporter and anchor for Arizona’s Family. He previously worked for KMPH FOX26 where he served as the weekend sports anchor and reporter from June 2013 to September 2019. While there, he was the host of the weekly half-hour of pregame show for the local USL soccer team and was the director of all high school football coverage which involved more than 70 area schools. Before he joined KMDH Fox 26, he previously worked for KODE-TV where he served as a weekend sports anchor and reporter from July 2011 to June 2013.

King previously spent about 1 year working for WSET-TV where he served as a videojournalist, reporter, and anchor from July 2010 to June 2011. He previously worked for Carolina Week where he served as a sports director from August 2009 to May 2010. King started his journalism career at ESPNU Campus Connection where he served as a reporter from March 2009 to May 2010. He went to the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where he graduated and attained his bachelor’s degree.

King has also managed to win several awards ever since he started his journalism career. For instance, he was awarded an Emmy for a story about “The Seated Golfer,” a Valley veteran who found new life on the golf course more than thirty years after a wartime injury left him unable to walk.

Whenever he is not working, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends. He also enjoys road-tripping around the Grand Canyon state, reading, hiking, golfing, nature photography, playing basketball, and cooking.
