Patrece Dayton Biography
Patrece Dayton is an American journalist working for WTHI as an anchor, reporter, managing editor, and producer. She joined the station in May 1988 and has served the station for more than 3 and a half decades.

Dayton joined the University of Florida in Gainesville in 1984 when she finished her high school education. In 1988, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Dayton works for WTHI as an anchor, reporter, managing editor, and producer. In this role, she is the co-anchor of News 10 at 6 p.m. and News 10 Nightwatch on WTHI and anchor of myFOX10. Further, she produces myFOX10 newscast and produces and reports several special reports for News 10.
During her career, Dayton has received several awards for her journalism work. In 2009, the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce granted her its Athena Award for demonstrating creativity, excellence, and initiative in her career. The Indiana Broadcast Association gave her two Spectrum awards for general news reporting and news series. She won three Emmy nominations and won an Emmy Feature Reporting Award in 2011.
Her first job out of college was in Lakeland, Florida. Aside from journalism, Dayton has volunteered for many organizations like the United Cerebral Palsy Annual Telethon and the Terre Haute Women’s Club “Shoe Bus” program that donated free shoes and socks to underprivileged Vigo County School children.
Dayton hosted the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon and was a tutor for the Vigo County School Corporation. She has also worked in several community boards like Habitat for Humanity and Volleyball for the Small.
