Peta Sheerwood Biography
Peta Sheerwood is an American Meteorologist working for WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina where she serves the station as a Weekend Morning Meteorologist. She has been working with the station since February 2019.
Peta Sheerwood Education
In 2011, she joined The University of Florida where she attained her Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Telecommunication and a minor in Geography, and a certificate in Climatology and meteorology in 2015. While in college, she was active in several societies and activities including the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), Journalism and Communications Ambassador, and the University of Florida Office of Academic Support Mentor.

Sheerwood works with WRAL-TV where she serves the station as a Weekend Morning Meteorologist. Prior to WRAL-TV, she worked at WOWT NBC Omaha where she served as a meteorologist from October 2016 to February 2019. During her tenure at WOWT NBC Omaha, she was in charge of analyzing forecast models as well as data. She also delivered forecasts for WOWT NBC Omaha, she worked at KOLN/KGIN-TV where she served as a meteorologist and video journalist from July 2015 to September 2016 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
While at KOLN/KGIN-TV, she was in charge of analyzing forecast data and models. Before that, she worked at WRUF Weather, WUFT-TV where she served as a weather forecaster from July 2013 to June 2015. From September 2013 to May 2015, she worked at WUFT News where she served as a reporter. Prior to that, she worked as a student assistant at Knight Division for Scholarships, Career Services, and Multicultural Affairs.
From June 2014 to August 2014 she was a weather intern at WPLG. While at WPLG, she was in charge of gathering and analyzing forecast data. In addition to that, she had previously spent about 4 months at WCJN TV 20 where she interned and edited as well as wrote for the network.
Between the month of August 2012 and July 2013, she worked at WUFT News where she served on a production crew. Prior to that, she worked a WUFT-FM Radio Reading Services where she was a volunteer producer and reader. She had previously worked at College Summit where she was an Alumni Leader for about 1 month.
