Pete Gilbert Biography
Pete Gilbert is an American journalist currently working as the Weekend Sports Anchor and weekdays Sports Reporter at WBAL-TV. He began at WBAL-TV 11 as an intern in 1995.
Pete Gilbert Career
As part of the Ravens Broadcast Unit, Pete broadcasts WBAL-TV 11, WBAL Plus, WBAL 1090 AM, and 98 Rock during pre-game and post-game shows. Pete won the 2011 “Maryland Sportscaster of the Year Award” from the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association. Pete was also named the 2016 Maryland Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association.
During his time away from Maryland, Pete covered KECI-TV sports in Missoula, Mont., and WBAL’s sister stations KHBS/KHOG-TV in Fayetteville, Ark., and WGAL-TV in Lancaster, Pa. Pete grew up in Damasco, Md., and attended St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.
