Richardson joined Winthrop University in Rock Hill in 2011 and graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Mass Communication and Broadcast Journalism. During her time in South Carolina, Richardson covered ex-NFL player, Phillip Adams, who was posthumously diagnosed with CTE after causing a grisly murder-suicide involving a popular doctor, his family, and others. She also covered riots in Rock Hill following the unfair arrest of a young black man.
