Riley Wyant is an American anchor/reporter/producer working for NBC12 News where she serves as a weekend anchor. Prior to joining the network, she served at NBC29 in Charlottesville as a reporter.

Wyant is working for NBC12 News as a weekend anchor. She began her tenure at the network in October 2021 as a Weekend Anchor and Reporter. Prior to her joining the network, she was tenured in Charlottesville at NBC29 as a reporter/anchor. Having tenured the network for two years, she was accorded Best Light Feature and Best Multimedia/Online Journalism in the two 1st place AP Awards. There she also served as a fill-in for every on-air position both as a producer/anchor, weather, sports, and investigative.
Additionally, she was also made responsible for researching, writing, shooting, editing, producing hard news, and also feature stories on a day-turn timeline. She also featured the BLM protests and marches with live shots. Wyant also served as the lead for the network’s exclusive investigative reports as COVID-19 plagued prisons & nursing homes. She also posted and interacted with her viewers on all social media platforms.
Previously, she was tenured at 3304 Sports in Virginia on February 2019 as a sports director. There she was the founding member and team leader of the student run-digital network. She also hosted, produced, directed, and served as an analyst for multiple game broadcasts (Baseball, Lacrosse, Wrestling, and Women’s Hoops). Additionally, she also coordinated student broadcasts, contacted SIDs, taught students about equipment, and ran weekly production meetings.
She went to Virginia Tech where she later graduated with a concentration in Sports Media and Analytics, a degree in Multimedia Journalism, and a minor in Political Science. Wyant also tenured as an intern in Roanoke at WFXR Sports and also as a sideline reporter at ACC Network Extra and ESPN3.
During her leisure time, she loves spending time with her three younger brothers at Lake Anna wake surfing. Being a Hokie fan, she also enjoys attending various football games. She states that she is always motivated by her favorite quote “I don’t know the secret to happiness, but I’ll tell you what…I’ve never been sad at a Mexican restaurant.”
