Finnerty is a journalist who had also worked with other stations prior to joining Newsmax. Previously, he worked for CBS affiliate WTSP in Tampa, Florida, where he served as a reporter and an anchor. While still at WTSP, he managed to enclose important events that took place including the Republican governor for the first time in over a century, Hurricanes, and Florida’s transition from a swing state to a red state with two Republican senators.
Finnerty’s career began when he landed a job at WEEI Sports Radio in Boston, where he hosted the Celtics Halftime Show and the Red Sox Pre-Game Show. His work at WEEI was after he graduated from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut where he studied communications.
He then made a transition to television as a reporter and anchor at NBC’s NECN, where he enclosed major events in sports, including the NBA Finals and the World Series. His love and passion for politics began when he was still young and everything that involves politics is of high importance to him. Due to this, he started working for KBAK/KBFX in Bakersfield, California, where he served as a morning anchor. In 2013, he then became the go-to talent for political coverage. Finnerty was also the only local reporter who was allowed d into the Santa Monica, California apartment where notorious South Boston gangster James “Whitey” Bulger lived while he was on the run from the FBI.
Additionally, he worked for KCTV where he served as the morning anchor and host of a daily talk show “Better Kansas City,” where he had conversations and interviewed newsmakers, and celebrities just to mention a few. He lives in Connecticut with his family and is also very active on his social media pages including Facebook and Twitter. He enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends whenever he is not working.
