Sam Rogers is an American reporter and multiskilled journalist currently working at NEWS CENTER Maine. He joined the station in September 2019 specializing in general assignment reporting.
Sam Rogers Career
Rogers is a proud graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where he earned his broadcast journalism career in 2019. While there, his peers gave him the nickname, “Director of Morale”.
During his time at the University of New Hampshire, he worked as the sports director at WUNH, the campus radio station. He UNH football, hockey, and lacrosse games as a play-by-play broadcaster. Rogers was also a sports staff writer for the school paper reporting hockey and basketball beats.
Since Rogers attended a summer camp called ‘Sports Center for Kids’ he knew he wanted to join the broadcasting world. The camp used to teach the campers how to research and write a news story, in the time giving them practice editing, shooting, and anchoring the story on TV. He attended the camp from second grade up until high school.
During his free time, rogers enjoys exploring some of Maine’s best breweries, playing pond hockey as well as playing golf.
