Boring joined Drury University in 2016 after finishing her high school education. She studied Multimedia Production and Journalism there until 2017, when she transferred to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (Go Gophers!). In 2020, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. The series earned her her first Kansas Association of Broadcasters Award for her news feature ‘How a daily greeting led to a friendship in Goddard.’
Boring started her career as a fill-in anchor, morning reporter, and fill-in producer at KAAL News in Rochester, Minnesota. While in Rochester, she broadcast the distribution of the first COVID vaccines by the Mayo Clinic, the passing of George Floyd, and the December 2021 storms and tornadoes that swept through southern Minnesota and northern Iowa.
Boring loves bonding with new people daily as a reporter and talking with viewers both online and in person. She is thrilled to share the stories of those in her home market, as this is a goal she’s had since high school. She first became interested in journalism while reporting for the Blazer News Center in high school.
