Scott Reister Biography
Scott Reister is an American journalist working for KCCI 8 News as the sports director since he was promoted in August 2018. He joined the station in September 2009 as a weekend sports anchor and weekday sports reporter. Previously, he worked for KNDU-TV in Kennewick, Washington, as the sports director.

Reister joined the University of Texas at Austin in 1998 after finishing his high school education. In 2002, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. While in college, he interned at the NBC affiliate in Austin, KXAN-TV. He also worked as the sports director at KVR, the student TV station.

He worked there for a year before joining KXXV-TV (ABC) in Waco, Texas, as the weekend sports anchor. After three years in Texas, he moved to Kennewick, Washington, as the sports director for KNDU-TV.
Reister served as the sideline reporter for Spokane Sports TV while he was still in the Northwest. He also called hydroplane races and nationally broadcast Arena Football Games. He received 2 awards from the Society of Professional Journalists for his sports reporting.
