Scott Sincoff Biography

Scott Sincoff is an American meteorologist who is best known for his time at WBOY where he served as the Chief Meteorologist broadcasting weather news at 6 pm and 11 pm. He began serving as the Chief Meteorologist at the station in November 2019, till June 2022, when he left the station. He joined the WBOY team in April 2018, left in 2022, and joined Fairmont State University where he serves as an adjunct professor.

In 2014, Scott earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media Studies as well as Environmental Policy, Institutions, and Behaviors. Scott also graduated from Mississippi State University with a Master’s degree in Geosciences with a specialization in Broadcast Meteorology in 2016.

Sincoff is the Chief Meteorologist for the StormTracker 12 weather team and is the meteorologist for 12 News First Edition, 12 News at 6, and 12 News at 11. Prior to joining the WBOY StormTracker 12 weather team, he worked at KVRR Local News in Fargo, North Dakota where he served as a morning meteorologist for two years. While he worked at KVRR, his skills in forecasting severe and winter weather and his many science experiments were honored.

Central New Jersey is his native home and he is a member of the National Weather Association. He is also an Eagle Scout who enjoys exploring Wild and Wonderful West Virginia including Coopers Rock State Forest and around the New River Gorge. During his spare time, he enjoys eating new things, cooking, singing, musical theater, crafting beer, and watching sports such as; hockey, football, and baseball. In addition, he is a huge fan of Mississippi State, Rutgers college sports, New Jersey Devils, NDSU, New York Yankees, and West Virginia. He also owns two rescue dogs called Declan and Doppler.
