While there, he hosted and created a show called “Story2Share” which airs every day at 6 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. In 2023 and 2022, his show won him a National Edward R. Murrow Award for the best writing reporter. Sean returned to WSYR-TV in November 2016 where he served as a reporter until his departure in July 2018.

Prior to joining WSYR-TV, Martinelli spent one year and three months working at WUTR-TV as a general assignment reporter from September 2015 to November 2016. He started his journalism career at WSYR-TV working as an intern from September 2014 to December 2014. During his time there, he hosted various shows such as “First at Four” and “Bridge Street”. Sean was also in charge of supervising social media content, conducting research, and delivering news stories.

Martinelli previously worked at NBCUniversal Media as an intern from June 2014 to August 2014. As an intern, he was responsible for Logging tapes, pitching stories, and helping book upcoming guests. Before that, he spent nearly two years working as an editorial intern at The Daily Love from 2013 to May 2014. Apart from working as a journalist, Sean is also a guest speaker at college journalism classes across the country. In addition, he is also an active member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
