Spencer Davidson is an American Anchor/Reporter/Director working for WKTV NewsChannel 2 in Utica, New York where he serves the station as a Sports Director since July 2015. He, however, joined the station in August 2013 working as a Digital Media producer a role he held until August 2014.
Spencer Davidson Education
Davidson attended New Hartford High School in the year 2009 before graduating and going to the University. While there, he was a member of the 2008-09 Spartans ice hockey state champion team and also played lacrosse. Spencer is a proud graduate of Hofstra University located in Long Island where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science.
He studied at the University between the years 2009 and 2013. While there, he was an Administrator/Captain/President for the Hofstra Club Ice Hockey team. Asides from this, he was also a Hofstra University Honors College Graduate and was on the Dean’s List. Davidson was privileged to study under the Academic Presidential Scholarship.

Spencer Davidson is the Sports Director at NewsChannel 2. He also anchors weeknights at 6 and 11 PM, in addition to, Sports Express on Friday nights. Spencer moved into the position after being the Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter since August 2014. Spencer joined NewsChannel 2 as the Digital Media Producer in 2013 following his May graduation from Hofstra University in Long Island with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science.
Davidson works with WKTV NewsChannel 2 where he serves the station as a Sports Director. He, has, however, held a number of roles since joining the station in August 2013 as a Digital Media producer. He then went on to pick the role of Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter in August 2014 and held the role till July 2015. It was after this that he picked his role as a Sports Director.
Asides from his role as a Sports Director, he also anchors the weeknights 6, and 11 PM News and Sports Express on Friday nights. Prior to joining WKTV full-time, he had also spent two summers working as a Sports Intern at the same station. When he was at the University, he was also a staff member of 88.7 FM WRHU. There, he was part of the Sports Department and provided play-by-play, beat reports, and color commentary for various Hofstra Pride DI sports teams.
Asides from this, he has also served as a Feature Reporter for the New York Islanders of the NHL. This is despite his heavy allegiance to the Rangers. While there, he was privileged to interview some of the top players within the Islander’s locker room, and around the league for air during Islanders’ game broadcasts on WRHU. Asides from this his interviews were also aired during the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Pittsburgh Penguins. This was simulcasted on 98.7 FM ESPN Radio New York, and WFAN 660 AM.
He makes a return to Central New York as he was raised in New Hartford. Asides from the Rangers, Spencer is also a huge fan of the Yankees and loves the Knicks and Jets. This is in addition to being a huge fan of the hometown Utica Comets.
