Escobedo is an Emmy-nominated journalist who joins NEWS 8’s morning team after a brief stint as a CBS Newspath West Coast correspondent in Los Angeles. She worked at KGUN 9, an ABC affiliate in Tucson, Arizona, where she hosted evening newscasts and covered big breaking news stories before returning to California. Escobedo previously worked for KTVK’s Good Morning Arizona in Phoenix as a morning anchor and live reporter.
Stella is a proud Trojan who earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from USC and began her career at KXLF in Butte, Montana, before returning to Palm Springs to work for KESQ and KPSP. Escobedo was born in Russia and immigrated to the United States with her parents and younger sister when she was seven years old.
