Stephanie Waldref Biography

Stephanie Waldref is an American Meteorologist known for her time working with KOLD where she served the station as a Morning Meteorologist at KOLD News 13. She has worked with the KOLD Weather team between June 2018 and September 2018. Waldref was later made the Morning Meteorologist when the stating was moved to Gray Television. She served in this role between September 2018 and March 2023.

Stephanie earned a bachelor’s degree in atmospheric sciences from the University of North Dakota. After graduation, she worked at the NBC affiliate in Minot for a year, covering the cold, harsh winters of her home state.

She states that at the beach it was beautiful and to say that she is excited about the dry heat would be an understatement. Waldref was raised in North Dakota where she got an atmospheric science degree from the University of North Dakota.

After her graduation, she spent a year covering the cold, harsh winters of her home state at the NBC affiliate in Minot. After living in the North all her life, she later decided to trade in her snow boots for flip-flops before moving to Wilmington, North Carolina. While she was in North Carolina, she was covering everything from Hurricane Mathew to more than three times inches of snow on the beach. She is now excited to add monsoon forecasting to her list.

Away from work, she can be found enjoying local restaurants or breweries with her husband and dogs. Additionally, she loves the outdoors(mostly below 1000 degrees) and is looking forward to exploring all the hiking trails around Tucson. She is also excited to be close to her family in Phoenix and can’t wait to spend the holidays with them.
