Roesgen has worked for WGNO as a co-host of the 5, 6, and 10 p.m. broadcasts since 2020. Upon joining the station, she first worked part-time as an anchor and reporter. She has experience working on the national and international level. For instance, she sailed on the Sea of Galilee in Israel, went on an assignment alongside the U.S. Army in Haiti, and bartered for a camel in Cairo.

After working on the local TV scene for multiple years, Roesgen was named co-host of “National Geographic Today,” which broadcasts internationally from National Geographic headquarters in Washington, D.C. in 2001.

As a reporter, Roesgen has a multi-part series report in Egypt featuring Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass about the raising of a Civil War submarine in Charleston. Further, she interviewed Jane Goodall, a world-renowned conservationist, and Bob Ballard who found the Titanic.

In 2002, Roesgen returned to New Orleans and joined WWNO as a freelance reporter for NPR’s All Things Considered, Morning Edition, and other NPR programs. The following year, she started anchoring and reporting part-time at WGNO.

During her time at NPR and WGNO, Roesgen reported Hurricane Katrina which led to her employment at CNN. She was hired as the first correspondent for CNN’s Gulf Coast Bureau which launched in New Orleans in 2005. For two years, she broadcasted the recovery endeavors along the Gulf.

In 2007, Roesgen became CNN’s correspondent based in Chicago. While at CNN, she did daily live shots for Anderson Cooper 360, The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, and all other CNN shows. She also covered the raid on a polygamist sect in Texas, the impeachment of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, the passing of Michael Jackson in Los Angeles, and several hurricanes, tornadoes, snowstorms, and floods.

In 2009, Roesgen left CNN to pursue a Master’s degree. While pursuing her degree, she worked part-time at WGNO as an anchor and reporter before she joined the station full-time in 2020. Away from journalism, she is a certified English teacher as a Second Language (ESL). Further, she is an English teacher volunteer for the local immigrant community.
