Tanja Babich is a Canadian Emmy Award-winning news anchor working for ABC 7 Chicago where she anchors Eyewitness News in the Morning from 4:30 AM until 7 AM and again from 11 AM until noon. She joined the station in January 2014.

Babich graduated from Cornell University and later interviewed to become an intelligence officer. A public speaking engagement captured the attention of a city official who later suggested a career in broadcasting. She applied and was accepted to Northwestern University’s prestigious journalism program a few weeks later.
