Tess Rowland Biography

Tess Rowland is an American former anchor/reporter known for having worked for WMBB as a morning reporter a position she took up in March 2021. She joined the WMBB team in June 2020, as a weekend anchor and reporter and departed in October 2022. She has been working as a National President at MADD – Mothers Against Drunk Driving since leaving WMBB. Before joining WMBB, she worked at WVUE.  

Rowland joined Loyola University New Orleans in 2016, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in mass communication with a concentration in journalism and a minor in Theatre Arts in 2020. She started her career in broadcast journalism at WVUE- FOX 8, where she served as a news assistant on the Investigate Team. Tess is a strong believer that the power of a news organization should be used to make a positive impact on individuals and benefit the local community.

While she worked on the investigation team, one of her biggest stories was exposing sham charities that collected millions of dollars and deceived donors about how their donation money was spent. In addition, she loves meeting and talking to new people on a daily basis as she feels that an important part of her job is being a good listener. During her leisure time, she likes shopping, jogging on the beach, trying out new restaurants, and spending ample time with her family.
