Wooten is a meteorologist who joined The Weather Channel soon after graduating from college. He forecasts for the network on a variety of shows, including field anchors’ severe weather coverage as well as AMHQ. He has managed to enclose weather events that hit the headlines including Hurricanes Florence, Hermine, Dorian, and Michael. Deadly tornadoes that caused destruction to his home state of Arkansas in 2014, and the flooding in North Carolina are some of the stories he covered. In the immediate moments after tragedy and natural disasters, Tevin is one of the network’s top meteorologists for storytelling.
Wooten is also the former president of the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association (North Florida Chapter). He had also worked for other stations prior to joining The Weather Channel. For instance, he previously worked as a journalist and weather anchor in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and spent time as an EV30 design intern with engineers at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. He is also very active on his social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
