Troy Hayden is an American multiple Emmy award-winning journalist working for FOX 10 Arizona as a Morning Anchor since joining the station in 1994. In addition to anchoring, he also often reports from the field.
Troy Hayden Career
Hayden gained national recognition during the Jodi Arias murder trial, providing months of local and Fox News Channel reports, and conducting an exclusive interview with Arias a few minutes after her guilty verdict that was broadcast internationally.
Work with the Phoenix Fire Department has taken Hayden with firefighters into 1,100-degree fires. Hayden is verified as an advanced scuba diver, and conducts operations with underwater and swift water search and rescue teams, including taking the point position on a body recovery with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Dive Team. Hayden went more than 100 feet underground to explore the deepest drug tunnel ever found by US Border Patrol.
He has been allowed Troy to take the controls of an F-16 fighter jet over the Barry Goldwater bombing range by Military training and access. Additionally, Hayden spent three days out to sea on the nuclear aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan and dove 650 feet below the ocean’s surface on the USS Ohio nuclear submarine. Hayden has reported live from the Democratic National Convention, the World Series, the launch of the space shuttle Discovery, and four Super Bowls.
His work has been recognized with many professional awards, including multiple Emmy awards for both reporting and anchoring. He has been named “Best 10 pm Anchor” by Phoenix Magazine, “Anchor of the Year” by the Associated Press, “Best Live Reporter” by the Phoenix New Times, and was given the “Media Excellence” award by the Phoenix Fire Department.
