Wilson Stribling Biography
Wilson Stribling is an American journalist working for WLBT FOX40 as a morning anchor from 5 to 7 a.m. on WLBT and from 7 to 9 a.m. on Fox 40 since January 2015. Before that role, he served the station as a news director. He joined the station in January 1998 as a news anchor and reporter.
Wilson Stribling Education
Stribling joined Southern Methodist University in 1990 when he finished his high school education at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Ridgeland. In 1992, he transferred to the University of Mississippi where he graduated with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Marketing. In 1998, he joined Millsaps College where he graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree.

Stribling has worked for WLBT FOX40 as a morning anchor from 5 to 7 a.m. on WLBT and from 7 to 9 a.m. on Fox 40 since January 2015. In January 1998, he returned to Jackson where he joined WLBT as a freelance reporter. He covered the Luke Woodham murder cases in Philadelphia and Hattiesburg for WLBT and NBC affiliates countrywide in June 1998.
In 2003, he traveled to Dresden, Germany, where he saw firsthand the items arriving in Jackson for the Glory of Baroque Dresden exhibition. He alongside photographer Carlos Spann a five-part series before the exhibition publicly opened. That same year, he worked as a writer and producer of WLBT’s 60-minute 50th Anniversary Special. Also, he edited and produced WLBT’s 30-minute special tributes to weatherman Woodie Assaf and former CEO Frank Melton.
From 1998 to 2009, he served WLBT as a morning anchor when he moved into newsroom management as an assistant news director. He was later promoted to news director after longtime WLBT News Director Dennis Smith retired.
Stribling first got involved with TV in Mississippi when he worked at the campus station nearly every day. His first TV job was when he worked in Sherman, Texas at KTEN Channel 10 as a weekend anchor and reporter. One year later, he relocated to Youngstown, Ohio, where he served WKBN-Channel 27 as a morning anchor.
