Margaret Orr Biography

Margaret Orr is the Chief Meteorologist for WDSU News in New Orleans. She joined the station in 1979 as a general assignment reporter. Orr began forecasting weather for the 5, 6, and 10 p.m. news in 2009 after many years on the morning news.

Orr became co-host of the “Breakfast Edition” with Bill Stanley, and later co-host of the “World’s Fair Show” with Alec Gifford. For over 2 decades, she has co-hosted the Children’s Hospital Telethon with Norman Robinson helping to raise millions of dollars for Children’s Hospital. She is a member of both the American Meteorology Society and the National Weather Association.

Margaret has Seals of Approval from both. Additionally, she has won first-place awards from the Associated Press and the New Orleans Press Club for breaking weather. Kathleen’s mother shared this information with the public while she visited those kids who were battling the condition at a young age. She also revealed that her daughter has been taking a new drug named Adcetris which has been helpful in her journey to recovery.
