Vanessa Van Hyfte is an American Reporter/Anchor working with ABC10 News/KGTV where she serves the station as a General Assignment Reporter and Anchor for 10News weekend morning shows. There she anchors the morning news at 5, 6, and 8 AM. She has been working with ABC10 News since the month of October 2011.

She kick-started her career over a decade ago working with WQAD-ABC located in Moline, Illinois. There, she worked her way up from being an intern to being a reporter. Later on, he moved from reporter to weekend anchor and finally to being the main anchor.
She has also been honored seven times by the Illinois and Iowa Associated Press for various breaking and hard news reports. This includes being named twice as “Best Reporter of the Year” by the Illinois Associated Press.
Among her most memorable story chronicled the recovery of a wounded soldier. This one-hour special report won her numerous press honors including a regional Edward R. Murrow Award and the Eric Sevareid Award.
Among other notables include interviewing several presidential candidates in the Iowa caucuses, and covering high-profile trials and snowy mountain rescues in Seattle. This is in addition to covering spotting and reporting a killer F3 tornado. She has also previously worked as a college instructor, teaching public speaking and communications.
