Jerry Jackson is an American meteorologist working for WNCT as the chief meteorologist since joining the station in August 2014. Previously, he worked for WWAY in Wilmington, North Carolina, for 16 years.

Jackson works for WNCT as the chief meteorologist of the Storm Team 9 Weather. He has worked in the broadcast meteorology industry for over 25 years. He holds the Television Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society.

Jackson previously worked for WWAY in Wilmington, North Carolina, for 16 years. He began his tenure in Wilmington as a weekend meteorologist starting in 1998 and transitioned to a morning meteorologist role in 2006. In 2010, he was promoted to chief meteorologist.

Jackson has informed viewers through some of the biggest severe weather events in North Carolina history, including Hurricanes Matthew, Florence, and Floyd. He also covered the Carolina Tornado Outbreak of 2011 and many snow/ice storms.

Over the course of his career, Jackson has received 17 honors from the Associated Press and RTNDA for broadcast excellence, including several “Weathercaster of the Year” Awards.
