Abbie Burke is an American Anchor working as the anchor for FOX21 Morning News from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday. She joined the station in September 2017.
Abbie Burke Career
Burke works with FOX21 News where she serves the station as a Morning Anchor. While getting out of bed at 2 a.m. can be difficult at times, she enjoys assisting southern Colorado in starting the day with a smile and all the latest news.
Abbie’s dream has always been to be a part of the FOX21 morning team, and she joined the early crew in September 2017. Prior to that, Abbie worked for FOX21 News in a variety of capacities, from intern to editor, to news producer and reporter, to evening anchor. She even experimented with the weather for a few months.
Abbie has lived in Colorado Springs since 2008, and despite leaving twice for news stations in Louisville, KY, and Providence, RI, she has always felt at home in the mountains. She’s been a reliable source of information during some of our community’s most tragic events, including the Waldo Canyon and Black Forest fires, as well as the deadly shooting at Planned Parenthood.
Abbie has received awards from the Colorado Associated Press Broadcasters Association and the Colorado Broadcasters Association for her reporting and producing. While Abbie is always eager to bring you the most up-to-date information, her favorite stories to cover are those that inspire, inform and build community.
Abbie is a Penn State University graduate who enjoys rooting for her Nittany Lions! Abbie enjoys spending time with her rescue pup, Milo, fostering kittens for the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, exploring beautiful Colorado, and attempting some type of craft project in her spare time. She also volunteers with Special Kids Special Families, is a LeadershipNOW class of 2015 graduate, and serves on the Friends of Cheyenne Mountain State Park board.
