Adam Sherwinski Biography
Adam Sherwinski is an American Meteorologist working for WCIA News serving as a meteorologist. He joined the station in October 2022, after previously working as a weekend meteorologist at WMBD/WYZZ News in Peoria.

After graduating from high school, Adam enrolled at Valparaiso University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology in May 2017. He started his first internship at the campus station where he worked as a weather director at VUTV. He also appeared on other stations like TNT and ESPN3 where he provided sports news stories like Valpo basketball games. Sherwinski worked there as the school’s mascot, “The Crusader” and whenever he wasn’t busy with TV, he was busy chasing storms. In addition to working as a weather director, he also did improv comedy.

He has been with the station for more than one year since he joined the station in October 2022. Before working for WCIA News, Adam worked as a weekend meteorologist at WMBD/WYZZ News in Peoria. While there, he covered many stories including human-interest stories, AG, and science, as well as working as a producer for the weather team’s podcast. He served the station for one year and ten months from 2020 to October 2022.
Sherwinski began his professional career as a weekday reporter and Weekend Meteorologist at KODE 12 in Joplin, Missouri. While there, he covered major weather events stories including sizzling temperatures, tornadoes, and ice storms. He spent nearly three years working for the station from the summer of 2017 to 2020 when he left the station. Prior to working for KODE 12, Adam worked as an intern at WGN’s Weather Team in Chicago, in addition to working for WCIA Channel 3 in Champaign, Illinois.
